What we do
Rheumatology
We provide and maintain a full service of x-ray facilities including digital X-Ray, DXA (Dual X-Ray Absorptiometry) for the diagnosis and treatment of osteoporosis;, and musculoskeletal ultrasound for faster and better diagnosis and more targeted management of rheumatic diseases.
Our on-site infusion center allows patients to receive their medications in the comfort of our private clinic while attended by the familiar staff . Very importantly, for added level of safety, their infusions are supervised by our National Institute of Health trained and board certified immunologist and allergist, Reinhard Kage, MD, PhD. This unique service is deeply appreciated by our patients.
Dr. Barbara Kage personally performs all the therapeutic injections. She is certified by the American College of Rheumatology in rheumatic musculoskeletal ultrasonography and uses this cutting edge technology to assure proper needle and medication placement. The experience of our patients confirms findings of scientific studies that ultrasound guided injections provide a better clinical outcome.
Our comprehensive electronic medical records system allows for fast and reliable access to needed information. Patient portal allows patients easy access to their data and to participate in their medical care in an even more informed manner.
Recognizing the fact that rheumatic conditions and their management are complex, every patient receives a printed mutually agreed upon treatment plan.
Allergy & Immunology
We provide and maintain a full range of allergy testing services including skin scratch testing for the diagnosis of environmental allergies, skin testing for the assessment of bee and other stinging insect allergies, as well as patch testing for the evaluation of contact allergies.
Allergen desensitization for environmental allergies are performed with allergy injections ('allergy shots') as well as - when appropriate - with oral desensitization according to the scientifically established allergy guidelines by the National Institutes of Health as well as the American Academy of Asthma, Allergy and Immunology.
Insect ('bee') venom desensitization is available for patients with life-threatening insect sting allergies.
Complete evaluation for food and medication allergies are performed including food skin testing and oral food and medication challenges.
We provide full services to diagnose and treat patients with asthma including pulmonary function testing as well full asthma trigger evaluation.
Full evaluation and treatment service for immune system disorders, immunodeficiencies, and autoimmunity are provided, often in close cooperation with the rheumatologist.
